c-rex.net explains: How data conversion succeeds easily
Data conversion is information extraction
See how Kurt's company is running the conversion process with DTS.
How DTS helps to introduce XML as a data base for distributing information through different channels.
Our Data Transformation Service automatically handles the conversion of documents in various formats such as Word, FrameMaker, QuickSilver or InDesign to XML.
We understand data conversion primarily as information extraction.
We take care of information that resides in files. It's about getting information out of Word, for example, and preparing and making it available for a specific application, for a Use Case.
It's not about simply converting data, for example from Word to PDF or from Word to FrameMaker. Rather, the goal is to extract the information it contains in such a way that you can do something with it in different contexts.
As a rule, we create an intermediate format based on DITA-XML for this purpose.
We make the extracted information available in customer portals or directly to machines using iiRDS. Keyword Industry 4.0.
But enough of words. Curtain up for Kurt.
