Smart-Information - is it allowed?
Technology that inspires, but also raises legal questions. How can you provide Smart-Information and still remain legally compliant? This question is addressed by Prof. Ulrich Thiele in his latest contribution to theSmart-Information-Blog" series. In this cooperation, further articles by all participants will appear in alternation in the future.
From the very beginning, instructions and other user information for products were provided on paper, sometimes in high print quality, sometimes as a typewritten package insert. At some point, PDF came on the market, and with it the question of whether it would be possible to pass on the print template electronically.
The question has been answered insidiously: Much, if not most, user information today is sent to the customer or operator unprinted in the form of a PDF file. PDF has thus fundamentally changed the way user information is shared.
And what about user information published as Smart-Information on smartphones or tablets? Is that allowed?
